PEST CONTROL METHOD AND APPARATUS
Pheromone dispensers are fired into tree branches with a slingshot launcher.

A scent-releasing element and a capsule are joined by a coiled wire extension and loaded into a slingshot-type launcher. The operator fires the assembly at a tree so that the capsule strikes a branch. On impact the releaser separates from the capsule, and inertia swings it over the branch while the wire keeps the two parts tethered. The releaser then hangs from the branch and disburses a pheromone to attract or repel pests.
“An apparatus to project toward a tree to disburse a pheromone, comprising: a releaser removably adjacent to a capsule via an extension; whereby said releaser and said capsule are disposed adjacent to each other in a deployable state, then the releaser separates from the capsule but is still connected via said extension whereby inertia causes said releaser to move away from said capsule into an attachment state, and related methods of applying a pheromone onto a tree branch.”— Brett Bunker Bunker, from the specification
