SNARE TYPE ANIMAL TRAP
A spring closes the snare instead of the animal's own struggling.
The animal passes its head through an open snare loop, which pulls slightly on the wire's attaching portion. This pivots an actuator, disengaging a cross bar from a trigger lever mounted between two arms. A tension spring then snaps the movable arm away from the stationary arm, tightening the loop rapidly. The trapper adjusts release sensitivity by sliding a ring up or down the trigger lever before setting.
