ANIMAL TRAP

One trap for anything from a barnyard rat to a coyote.

The animal enters either end of an open cylindrical casing, which is set into a hillside to resemble a hollow log. The animal steps on a treadle located near the center of the casing. The treadle displaces a trip wire running the length of the trap, releasing gravity-operated doors at both ends simultaneously. The doors fall closed and lock, confining the animal unharmed until the operator releases the lock by hand.
