ANIMAL-TRAP
The trigger arm swivels to any angle the trapper desires.
A heavy U-shaped spring closes a pair of jaws hinged to a flat bar base. A trigger-supporting arm pivoted at the center of the base swings to either side of the trap, or into alignment with it, before setting. Pressing the bait pan drives a two-pronged trigger lever against a trigger dog, which is positively moved both into and out of engagement with the jaw rather than relying on the jaw's closing force. An optional screw-in bait hook allows the trap to be hung vertically on a tree trunk, tripping the pan when the animal moves the hook up or down.
